CeBIT: Samsung's seven mega pixel camera phone

200503090018_01 While we Brits go all a quiver over our fab new Sharp Vodafone two mega pixel camera phones, Samsung has metaphorically kicked technological sand in our faces by unveiling a phone with a seven mega pixel snapper on board.

Paraded in front of disbelieving Germans at CeBIT this week the SCH-V770 not only takes pictures that other camera phones can barely dream of, it also comes with a 3x optical zoom that is arguably superior to many existing budget standalone digital cameras.

Other niceties include a 5x digital zoom, auto focus and a proper, whatever that means high quality flash. There’s no news yet on launch anywhere (Samsung is rather limply saying first half of this year), bit don’t expect to see seven mega pixel camera phones in the UK for some time yet.
